Ryan & Ashley |Welcoming Baby Jack — An In-Home Newborn Session With One of My Past Wedding Couples

There are moments in this job that feel like a full-circle gift, and photographing Baby Jack’s in-home newborn session was absolutely one of them. As a Louisville-based wedding photographer, I’ve had the honor of capturing countless love stories at the very beginning — the “I do,” the first kiss, the sparkler exits, the start of a brand-new chapter. But every now and then, I get invited back to document the chapters that follow. And that’s what made this session so special.

I first met Ashley and Ryan on their wedding day, a celebration filled with joy, easy laughter, and the kind of love that radiates long after the last dance. When they reached out to tell me they had welcomed a baby boy — sweet Jack — and wanted me to photograph their first days at home as a family of three, my heart just about melted.

Walking into their home felt like revisiting an old friend. They bought a farmhouse over 100 years old in Pleasureville, Kentucky. The framed wedding photos I took for them on the wall reminded me just how quickly time moves, and how magical it is to see their love story continuing to grow.

Baby Jack, with his perfect little squishy cheeks and sleepy grins, was a complete dream to photograph. Whether he was swaddled in his cozy blanket or curled up in his parents’ arms, every moment felt beautifully genuine. There’s something about photographing a newborn in their own space — the house that holds their first memories — that makes the images even more meaningful.

One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer in Louisville is the relationships that last long after the bouquet toss. Getting to see my couples transition into parenthood is such a privilege. It’s a reminder that photography isn’t just about documenting a single day — it’s about preserving legacies, milestones, and the quiet little moments that tell the real story.

Capturing Baby Jack’s newborn session was a heart-filling reminder of why I love this job so much. To Ashley & Ryan, thank you for welcoming me back into your lives. It was an honor to meet Jack and document the beginning of this beautiful new chapter.

Here’s to many more memories — and all the sweet baby snuggles to come.

Downtown Louisville Engagment Session | Hannah & Drew

A Downtown Louisville Engagement Session Overflowing With Laughter and Joy

As a Louisville wedding photographer, there are certain engagement sessions that remind me exactly why I love this work—and Hannah and Drew’s downtown Louisville engagement session was absolutely one of them. These two brought so much laughter, goofiness, and genuine connection that the entire experience felt like photographing pure happiness.

I’ve had the privilege of working with Drew’s family for over ten years, so getting to photograph him and Hannah as they start this new chapter together felt incredibly special.

-A Goofy Groom + A Bride With the Best Laugh-

Some couples take a few minutes to warm up in front of the camera…
This was not one of those couples.

Drew is effortlessly goofy—the kind of person who can light up a room with one joke or one exaggerated pose. Hannah? She laughs with her whole heart. Her smile is bright, her joy is genuine, and she spent most of the session laughing so much that I had to pause a few times because I was laughing too.

The combination of his playful energy and her contagious laughter made this engagement session feel vibrant, fun, and completely natural.

Downtown Louisville is one of my favorite places for engagement photography in Kentucky. The mixture of industrial textures, historic brick, riverfront views, and colorful city corners gives every couple a gallery filled with variety.

We wandered through St. James Court in Old Louisville, Seelbach Hotel, Slugger Museum, Whiskey Row, tucked into quiet alleyways, and found beautiful light in places most people walk past every day. Whether they were strolling hand-in-hand or stopping mid-walk to laugh at one of Drew’s jokes, every moment felt authentic and completely them.

The city brought the charm—these two brought the magic.

Having photographed Drew’s family for so many years, this session was a full-circle moment. Seeing him step into this next chapter with someone as wonderful as Hannah—and being trusted to capture it—was an honor.

Hannah and Drew, thank you for filling downtown Louisville with joy during your session and for making the entire afternoon feel like a celebration. Your wedding day is going to be absolutely unforgettable, and I can’t wait to capture the next part of your story.
